Psychological evaluations are provided to assist with diagnoses, treatment, school or accommodation recommendations and possible referrals. Each evaluation is composed of an extensive diagnostic interview and specific psychological tests which are relevant to the issue in question. In addition to the primary diagnostic focus, all evaluations are sensitive to other possible limiting factors such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, current life stressors, medical conditions or personality disorder.
Neuropsychological evaluations are provided to individuals 16 years of age or older who have a history of traumatic brain injury, stroke, early dementia, anoxia, aneurism or other medically diagnosed neurological disorder. The evaluation will document current neuropsychological status and evaluate for possible cognitive impairment by assessing memory, attention, processing speed, communication, intelligence, problem solving, planning, motivation, emotional factors and personality. Prior to the evaluation the family, case manager, or client should make a diligent effort to provide all available medical records that may document the history and current neurological and medical status.
Additional information about clinical neuropsychology can be viewed in the brochure developed by the American Psychological Association. (Clinical Neuropsychology).
